FAQ

  • Fabric Sourcing

I find my fabrics via buy sell trade sites, thrift shops or they are donated to me. My main goal is to not order new fabrics but use the ones already in circulation. When I do find myself ordering new fabrics I choose shops that are eco and socially conscious.

I wash to sanitize and prevent shrinking. I normally use Tide free and clear— and try to avoid scents at all cost. If it’s a thrift item I usually wash on strongest option possible. I want fabrics clean before I create something for you.

  • USPSC

This shop follows U.S. Product Safety Compliance guidelines and law. Most fabrics I use are deemed exempt from testing. If something requires a certificate it is on file in shop. Every garment has a CPC (Child Product Certificate) on file, a permanent care and tracking tag, and was made with safety in mind.

  • Repairs

If your child wears a hole or tears one of my items—(from regular wear and tear—not faulty craftswomanship) ; I also offer some patching and mending services. You will be in charge of shipping for these repairs, but most things aren’t a difficult fix. And your kid can have their favorite pants back.

  • Sizing

Measure to get the best fit. I find the patterns I use to tend to run larger than typical box stores. Feel free to send a message to request the size you need to purchase if size measurements are not in listings or if you’re needing help understanding the measurement box.

  • care instructions

Please read the posting for more details on care for your item, refer to the tag attached to item when you receive, and the item tracking tag stamped inside. If you still have a question about care before purchasing or how I prep my fabric before sewing feel free to send me a message.

  • Do you offer custom sews?

Yes, when custom item requests are available it shows on this website as a page. I do not have it open always because work can pile up. I am a stay at home parent and have to balance my workload. You can always message me via Social Media pages to inquire. I have prices listed on that page when it is available—or I can send you a price list upon request.

  • Who does the sewing?

I do the sewing, the sales, the social media—everything.

  • We have cats in our home.

I am a home business and we have cats. Cats are not allowed to sit on fabric or fabric tables. I keep finished projects and fabric in cat free spaces. I have a closed room in the house that I use to sew. I also lint roll to make sure my product doesn’t carry anything extra to you.

While I have these strict rules I understand that some people are very allergic to animals. I feel it’s important for me to be transparent. Feel free to message me with any concerns.

Everything is sent in paper/cardboard mailers or Compost mailer. Product is folded and wrapped in a reusable cloth bag. IF I use plastic it is something I am re-purposing. I especially want to add that I believe clothing is for everyone—it doesn’t have a gender. I hope that you will feel safe requesting the fashion you need/want.

If you’re interested in something I don’t have please send a message and we can discuss possibilities. I am able to alter custom items to make them more accessible.

About Me

  • Jesi Davis

    Sewist

  • I like to sew. But fabric creates a lot of waste. So, I decided to focus my sewing on making old things into something loved again. I started recycling lace curtains and making re-usable grocery bags. Now I sew kids clothing.

When I am not sewing I am probably on a hike with my son.

OH and my favorite animal is the Eastern Box Turtle.

Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions feel free to send a message!
